When you are into vintage divers, but need a nice (big) change of pace…you want something like the Tissot Seastar T.12 compressor skin diver.

Coming in over 42mm, this ref. 44518-7 timepiece is on the large end of super compressor divers that were produced during the time. While most watches of this style (dual crown diving type) are often called “compressors”, this one is a Tissot case engineered with a spring caseback design nearly identical to that of the EPSA/Brevet super compressor offerings by a plethora of brands in the period.

Take notice, this particular variant is the most desirable with its elevated applied markers on the inner bezel itself, giving enormous depth to the the look of the watch’s face. (The commonly seen variant has the standard printed inner bezel.)

With as good of aesthetics as we’ve come across on a T.12, you will not be disappointed in what this unique and uncommon compressor diver brings to the table…or should we say your wrist.

Tissot tells all kinds of time.

Any job that needs timing is a job Tissot can time. With efficiency. With accuracy. With a watch specially designed for the function. The navigation watch has a 24-hour dial. The chronograph features special interval timers. There’s a model just for skin diving.

No matter what you do, there’s a special function Tissot to help you do it on time. Swiss made, Tissot is a name known for quality in 140 countries.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
