Bulova Oceanographer 'B' 333ft. c.1969

$0.00

Of course there have been numerous brands who offered Rolex Oyster case-style models over the past handful of decades, but Bulova may have executed some of the best. These Oceanographer variants of the ‘68-’71 time frame hit some notable high points that those “in the know” have come to appreciate.

The ‘68-’69 Bulova Oceanographer line of models is arguably some of the greatest, most classic stretch of models that the company put out. Between their advertising, marketing, and incredibly well-executed styles, these group of watches are some of my most recommended models to collectors of Bulovas—or any vintage sport-style watches in general.

Beautiful fluted bezel. Dark blue-to-black dial. Simple, but classic dial layout. It’s really a hard one to pass up in the oyster-style category of 1960’s models in my book, and maybe one of the best all-around.

This is one of those watches that is guaranteed to catch peoples’ eyes and look much more expensive than its pay grade — both things we really appreciate here at Buying On Time.

Case: Nice, sharp oyster case with fluted bezel. Some caseback scratches and light wear on the bezel, but overall a great example.

Dial: Excellent dial with near ideal lume plots. Not many that will be better.

Hands: Some age on the hand lume, but it is all intact and not detrimental to the integrity of the watch.

Crystal: Great, correct Bulova crystal in much above-average condition.

Movement: Superb running condition. Very strong and very good time keeping. Winds nice and smooth.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
