Bulova Chronograph 'C' aka "Stars & Stripes" c.1970

$0.00

“One look tells you the time it took, the time it is, and the time you’re doing.

What you see there ( with your one look) is the Bulova Chronograph “C.” It’s a stopwatch with a sweep-second hand that measures time to 1/5 of a second. And it has two totalizer dials that add up those split seconds into 30-minute and 12-hour periods respectively. It’s also a precision timepiece with a second hand that works independently of the stopwatch. And finally, it’s a tachometer with a scale that gives you a direct reading of the average speed you’re doing (in miles or kilometers per hour). The Chronograph “C” will do all these things soaking wet (it’s water resistant). It turns your wrist into an all-weather, 24-hour information center.”

The Chronograph “C”, often referred to as the Stars & Stripes, is a well-known, highly collectible Bulova watch that stands out as one of the prominent models they produced around the turn of the 1970s decade.

While timepieces in this era were gaining in size, this near 44mm beast stands out to vintage enthusiasts that prefer watches on the larger end of the spectrum. Powered by the stout Valjoux 7736 base motor and fit with a red, white, & blue dial of iconic proportions, you’re going to be hard pressed not to get tons of stares and glares (half the time by yourself) with this classic chronograph on your wrist.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
