When it comes to classically-designed thin profile watches, you’re typically staring the 1950’s directly in the eye. Longines, Doxa, Omega, and Tissot have consistently been some of the most desirable Swiss offerings in this category.
Here we have a very early oversized Longines with the movement serial code coming in right at about 1949. A perfect 35mm width (in a time when most watches registered at 30-32mm, mind you), a slender sub-10mm thickness, beaming white, metallic dial, and wonderfully contrasting brass-like hands and numerals — this is a nicely valued example to fill the void in your watch box for a near 70 year old sub-second piece, from a premier brand, that doubles as a great dress watch.
